Re Child Abuse

Why do people like reading about child abuse, on one hand it can make you feel sick, on the other hand, you could ask why do people like reading about murders and thrillers. The mind is complex and we all have different feelings and emotions. Our preferences are individual and our reasons for reading can vary widely.

I hope that insight is gained from my book. I hope that a further understanding can be introduced about the depth of damage child abuse causes. This depth of damage can be deeper when the child has been abused by trust. When a stranger attacks a child it is damaging, yet when a person that child loves and has grown to trust abuses the child, then the damage has hit complex levels which branch out in all directions. This can then ripple out and have consequences for years to come. Relationships and socialising can be affected for years and it is only through understanding that these bridges can be rebuilt.

As I start my new book, I hope that lessons learnt from my psychology will sink in and help together with the experience.
